Seit einiger Zeit wird das Forum der Sturmmöwe nicht mehr genutzt! Ich finde das sehr schade, denn es bietet viele Möglichkeiten. Z.B. könnten die nervigen Diskussionen, ob eine auf Amrum fotografierte Lachmöwe hier hochgeladen werden darf, dort geführt werden. Besser wäre noch eine Meldung wie: Fahre morgen zum Dümmer, wer kommt mit? Auch den Mauerseglerwanderpokal fand ich witzig! Vieles mehr kann man mit dem Forum anfangen! Ich habe heute 2 Beiträge ins Forum gesetzt und hoffe, dass sie dort Eure Beachtung finden!!!

Na ja, die Erklärung ist recht einfach: Das Forum "suckt". Ich würde vorschlagen, wir bauen auf dem bkn-Server ein modernes, neues Forum auf (Platz ist genug vorhanden) und starten dort einen neuen Versuch.
Web-Foren sind eh Mist, egal wie modern sie sind, aber das Sturmmöwe-Forum liegt wirklich ganz unten im Haufen.
Nachteil: Die Nutzenden müssten sich vermutlich neu registrieren, aber auf diese Weise würden auch eine Menge Karteileichen verschwinden.

Uwe hat ja nicht die Themen kritisiert, sondern das Medium. Du hast vermutlich die Gnade der späten Geburt und nicht mehr das Usenet kennengelernt. Foren sind in erbärmlicher Versuch, das Usenet im Web nachzubauen, ohne auch nur annähernd dessen Funktionalität, Universalität und Benutzbarkeit zu erreichen.
Voraussetzung für ein funktionierendes Forum wäre aber so oder so eine kritische Masse an Leuten, die *miteinander* reden wollen. Das sehe ich hier in der Sturmmöwe nur begrenzt, wenn ich mir anschaue, wie oft Rückfragen an die Leserschaft in Artikeln überhaupt keine Reaktion erfahren. Wenn es mal längere Diskussionen gab, dann witzigerweise immer nur darüber, worüber und wie diskutiert werden darf, aber selten zum eigentlichen Inhalt der Sturmmöwe.

USENET, das waren in der Tat noch Zeiten, die aber vermutlich leider nicht mehr wiederkommen.
Auch als bekennender Forenhassser würde ich zu einer Modernisierung des Stummöwe-Forums raten. Der BKN-Server ist der Webserver für die Bezirkskonferenz Naturschutz, welcher netterweise von meinem Arbeitgeber (NIONEX GmbH) gesponsert wird. Dort wären noch Kapazitäten vorhanden, um ein modernes Forum mit allen "Bells and Whistles" zu betreiben, wenn denn wirklich Interesse vorhanden ist; ich fürchte allerdings auch, dass die "kritische Masse" nicht erreicht werden wird bzw. u. U. die Einstiegshürde zu hoch ist.

Örn`s Wahrnehmungen kann ich nur begrenzt nachvollziehen. Wann immer in der "Sturmmöwe" Fragen zur Artdiagose gestellt worden sind, sind diese schnell und gut beantwortet worden, wenn nicht, dann lag es am Bildmaterial, das eine Diagnose nicht zuließ.
Etwas anderes ist das "Sturmmöwe-Forum", was hieran erbärmlich sein soll, weiß ich nicht. Erbärmlich ist die geringe Nutzung: Wann immer ich hier außerhalb Bielefelds stattfindende Exkursionen über Bielefeld hinaus bekannt gemacht habe, war dies ohne erkennbare Wirkung. Und so habe ich dies inzwischen weitgehend eingestellt.

Ein Forum wird entweder angenommen, oder eben nicht. Das habe ich auch in anderen Hobby-Foren schon so erlebt.
Um das Sturmmöwe-Forum zu beleben gäbe es muMn nur einen Weg: Die Meldungen nicht mehr im Blog veröffentlichen, sondern nur im Forum.
Dazu müsste es entweder die Möglichkeit geben, Gastbeiträge MIT Bildern dort zu posten, oder es müßten sich alle Interessenten dort anmelden.
Die praktische Möglichkeit, Meldungen einfach per Email zu senden sollte sich auch implementieren lassen, aber das ist nicht ganz leicht.
Riesen Vorteil für Forum statt Blog wäre, dass jeder Einsteller von Meldungen möglicherweise mehr Rückmeldung erhält, als hier im Blog.
Nur mal eben ein paar Gedanken ... aber ich freu mich auch darüber, wie es jetzt läuft.
