Betreff: Stop illegal hunting in Malta
Illegal hunting in Malta is widespread and indiscriminate. Just last September, in what is probably Europe’s worst wildlife crime scene, over 200 dead protected birds were recovered from a woodland managed as hunting grounds by Malta’s hunting federation. These birds ranged from Marsh Harriers and Night Herons to Hoopoes and even a Nightingale.
We are sending you this international petition aimed directly at Malta’s Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, asking him to finally respect EU legislation and stop illegal hunting in Malta. Please sign the petition and encourage your friends, family and other contacts to also sign this petition.
Thanks from all the Raptor Camp and Spring Watch team

Wild birds migrate from Europe to Africa every autumn, travelling thousands of kilometres to spend the winter in warmer climates. Every spring, they migrate back to Europe to breed and replenish their numbers. On each way of their journey, a large number of these protected birds meet their death over Malta.
